girl what (about the artist)
Hi, I'm Cecil. I'm a digital artist from Louisiana, and I can draw YOU images and JPEGs. Commissions are my only source of income, and money can be exchanged for goods and services.According to witness testimony, my art style is "sexy and hot." Some say I have a "beautiful heart and a beautiful mind." Our top scientists are locked in heated debate. My style focuses on stark black linework, dynamic design, and thoughtful color palettes, with inspiration drawn from traditional comics and 2D animation. I apply traditional design principles, and focus on delivering atmospheric pieces that reflect character narratives. When it comes to design, I prioritize personal symbolism and repeated narrative motifs. Though I do not focus on rendering and realism, I strive for abstract artistic representation that reflects atmosphere and emotion.I also love TTRPGs, and specialize in designing characters and monsters for games. If you are a player or dungeon master interested in commissioning a design, more information can be found under the character design page. For more information, please visit my TOS and agreements page. For more examples of my work, feel free to browse my tumblr page. For inquiries, contact me through my email and provide methods of contact. (Discord is preferred for ease of communication.)
terms of service and commission agreement
1. I reserve the right to decline or reject requests without explanation. I will not draw abusive, hateful, or bigoted material. I will draw limited gore.2. I reserve the right to stop work or cancel a commission if the client is difficult to communicate with. I will not tolerate rude or unprofessional behavior.3. Though I take NSFW requests, I will not draw fetish content per my discretion. I will also decline requests if I am uncomfortable illustrating them.4. I will not illustrate certain media that I am not comfortable drawing. (EX: South Park, Harry Potter, DSMP)4.5. If you are unsure whether or not I would be willing to take a certain request, you can contact me privately to clarify. questions are encouraged, even if I turn it down. No hard feelings, but please stay professional in your inquiries.5. I reserve the right to use all work in portfolios, professional examples of my work, and in posts on social media. I will not use it for any other purposes, such as selling prints or making money outside of of client-artist agreement.6. Paypal invoices are sent at the start of the commission and are not accepted in full until it is completed and the client receives the finished artwork. this is to ensure that refunding is an option. I reserve the right to charge more depending on time and complexity during the process. I accept partial payment if the commission is unfinished, yet significant progress is made. Even if it is unfinished, the client will still receive all files and work as long as labor is still compensated. If it is not, and no payment is made whatsoever in compensation for completed labor, the work will not be for free use. (see point 11 for free use.)If I cancel a commission, I will provide a full refund.7. Clients will always be informed on changes made. Updates are frequent at all stages. Some changes may require renegotiation of pricing.8. If at any point the client stops communication, or if communication breaks down, renegotiation will be necessary. The commission may be cancelled and payment accepted regardless if the client fails to communicate after significant progress has been made.9. I will not reproduce other people's OCs, personal IP, or personal characters that are not the client's without explicit permission from the individual in question, with exceptions for surprise gifts. This is to prevent monetary gain off of another individual's work without consent, particularly if they are a small artist who makes little off of their work. For further clarification, feel free to ask.10. Before work is started, prices are negotiated depending on the client's needs. Communication is necessary. Do not ask for a decreased price under my baseline.11. In regards to the use of the product (free use); reposting on social media (Tumblr, Twitter, Toyhouse, Reddit, etc) or usage as an icon is allowed with explicit credit. Do not post any of my work on pinterest. This is to prevent art theft. Lots of stolen art end up on Pinterest. Please don't post it there.12. The client is allowed to make physical prints of the work for personal use, but no financial gain is to be made off of it. Reselling designs in the form of adopts is not allowed. Please do not resell my art, I work hard on it.13. I will stop all work if i feel the client is not communicating, or if communication grows to the point where progress is difficult. If the client requests significant changes frequently and is not satisfied after an extended period of time, I have the right to cancel. What work has been done will still be provided, unless terms for professionalism and payment are broken.14. Treat me niceys.15. Burger king foot lettuce.By commissioning me, the client must confirm they accept and will abide by these terms. If these terms are broken, I reserve the right to cancel and deny free use. I reserve the right to accept partial payment for performed labor. If you are confused about any of these terms, and need clarification, feel free to contact, especially if you are unfamiliar with commissioning work. I am more than happy to work with clients at every step, but please be respectful and professional. Please do not argue with any of these terms, they are there for a reason. Except for 15.
Character Design Information
Custom character designs are time-costly and labor intensive. Development for character designs may take an extended period of time, depending on the client's needs.Baseline character design prices are 200$ USD flat, and reach a maximum of 375$ USD. They may be raised depending on the amount of revisions, or detail of the design. Clients are paying not just for finished artwork, but the development of an entirely new design and associated drawings. All development work is saved and sent to the client once it is finished for reference or personal use. Please do not repost development sketches on social media until the work is completed, but clients may share it privately. Provide credit, please.Designs can range from human to anthro, fantasy to sci-fi, or non-human entirely. I also enjoy creature design and horror, ranging from body horror or designs intended to terrify.
Since character design requires collaboration, it may take longer than a regular commission, but development updates are frequent. As an artist I enjoy bringing life to people's characters, but I know that it can be daunting if you are unfamiliar with character design. Please communicate with me! I am more than happy to explain the process, and choices I make in regards to designs. I also make notes for why I include certain elements. I strive for creating designs that reflect the character's personality and the client's vision, so feel free to tell me all about it. all all details are considered, no matter how small.I may also suggest certain design elements that I feel may improve the overall design, but clients are free to decline any of these changes if they feel it doesn't fit.Do not, under any circumstances, resell these designs as adopts, or claim total credit. All designs are a labor of love and deep consideration, made specifically for the client. If done, the client will be blacklisted and prevented from commissioning in the future.
What To Expect
1. The client is responsible for outlining the clear concept for the character they want. Basic information about the character, such as personality and established details, and the overall impression of the character.2. The client is required to send images, characters, and concepts that give them the impression they're looking for. There is a minimum of five separate images. the more the better. Personal drawn references are prioritized.3. After discussing initial details, several development sketches are made, to be forwarded to the client for review on their favorite. Variations to elements are made, and the client chooses the one they like the most. Several revisions may be done. All development is saved. Prices will be upped and changed depending on the amount of revisions and complexity. at this stage, the palette is developed.4. Once development is finalized, if chosen as an option, the colored reference illustrated will be started. Changes to basic design elements at this stage are difficult, but changes to palette aren't. I will not move onto the final stage unless the client is satisfied with the design to prevent frequent changes.5. Once the requested illustration is completed, the client will receive it, alongside all developmental work if requested.
